The Conference Guide Program, sponsored by the Membership and Professional Development Committee, pairs conference attendees with experienced RBMS members (Conference Guides), who help newer members to the Section navigate their conference experience.
Conference Guides are asked to meet with the newcomer at least once during conference. A meeting can be set for coffee, dinner, or a break between sessions. Topics for discussion can include: session types and the proposal process, RBMS meeting schedules, the duties of various RBMS committees, and how to join an RBMS committee. Conference Guides are also expected to introduce the newcomers to RBMS members.
The Membership and Professional Development Committee hopes that the Conference Guide Program will encourage newcomers to remain long-term, active members of RBMS.
