Dining in New Orleans

By Patricia Nugent, Member of the Local Arrangements Committee

The New York Times named New Orleans the number one place to visit in the world in 2018 in no small part because of the world-class cuisine found here. There are hundreds of great restaurants to choose from and the options can be overwhelming. Hopefully you will enjoy great meals wherever you go, but here are a few resources to help you no matter what you are hungry for.

New Orleans has an official travel site with a helpful searchable database of restaurants. Search by neighborhood, cuisine or price range to find some great options no matter where you are.

To eat like a New Orleanian, take a look at a local food critic’s 2018 Dining Guide and the “essential” restaurants this season, including vegetarian and vegan options.

The national media also has thoughts about where to eat and drink.

Whether you are looking for budget eats, Happy Hour bites, or to indulge in some seriously fine dining, New Orleans gives you plenty to choose from. Bon Appétit!
