The polls for the inaugural People’s Choice session voting closed as of midnight Wednesday March 11, 2020 (Eastern time). The People’s Choice Subcommittee and the Conference Program Planning Co-Chairs thank you for your interest and enthusiasm for this new session type! The voting was conducted using Qualtrics, which provides the Subcommittee with a report of raw numbers. That raw data will be counted and checked in triplicate by the People’s Choice Subcommittee, the Website Subcommittee, and a representative from the Marketing Subcommittee.<\/p>\n
Results will be announced to those who submitted proposals on or around March 16, 2020.<\/p>\n

This year RBMS has created a new category of sessions for the 2020 conference. The \u201cPeople\u2019s Choice\u201d sessions will be chosen through an online voting process open to all RBMS members and 2020 meeting attendees. There is no formal criteria for selection, however, as you vote, please consider how each proposal would support the RBMS 2020 theme \u201cPower, Resistance, Leadership\u201d or advance the field of archives and special collections. Session proposals are accepted in a variety of formats including fully-formed panels, individual papers, participatory sessions, or lightning rounds. Creativity is encouraged, as are proposals that amplify diverse voices and ideas.<\/p>
To assist in secure and confidential voting, the RBMS web team has developed a voting tool that will allow the membership to vote and rank their top session proposals. This ranking will be used to select the final presentations. We have received XX proposals, and of these, XX will be presented at the conference.<\/p>
