Beyond the Marriott

by Local Arrangements

Want to see more of Baltimore than just the conference? Perhaps you are coming on a budget? In addition to our reserved hotel block at the Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards, Charm City has plenty of alternative lodging options.

Other hotel locations

Other Inner Harbor hotel rates will generally be competitive with that of the conference hotel, but there are many other options if you want to explore other areas of the city. Located around the corner from the conference hotel, the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore is also near Federal Hill, one of Baltimore’s most historic neighborhoods. In the heart of the business district just north of Pratt Street and east of Eutaw Street there are half a dozen hotels that are still a short walk to the conference.
The Lord Baltimore Hotel, in downtown Baltimore, is just a 10 minute walk from the Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards.

If you want to venture a bit further, the Marriott Waterfront in Harbor East has nice views of the water in one of the toniest downtown neighborhoods; travel to the conference from here would require a ride share/bike share/scooter share/bus skills, which will be covered in a later post.

Budget Options

It is no surprise that the popular alternative-lodging service Airbnb is alive and well here. If you are sticking close to the conference site, look for options north of Pratt Street, east of Eutaw Street, south of Mulberry Street, and west of Calvert Street. If you wish to venture further, popular neighborhoods include Federal Hill, Fells Point, Mt. Vernon, and Harbor East.

If you want to roll the dice, you can always try Hotels.com or Priceline to see if there are any deals available. A general rule of thumb is to stick to hotels near the Inner Harbor, and not to stay west of the conference site.

Happy hunting!
