Are you excited for a week in lovely Iowa City but missed the sign-ups for Tuesday workshops? Want to give back to the community you\u2019ll be visiting? Or perhaps you just want to see a part of Iowa City you might not otherwise? Come join us at a service project assisting the Bur Oak Land Trust<\/a>, an organization that “provides places where everyone has the opportunity to learn about and enjoy native habitats and where diverse flora and fauna have a chance to persist.”<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll make an afternoon of it by working on habitat restoration and maintenance in nearby Pappy Dickens Preserve<\/em> or Shimek Ravine<\/em>, which should give us all a chance to enjoy some outside time before a busy conference. All tools, gloves, and instruction will be provided, but you will want to wear layers and long pants.<\/p>\n

We will leave from the Sheraton\u2019s lobby at 12:45pm<\/strong>, to meet at the volunteer location by 1pm. We return to the hotel at 4pm<\/strong>, but those hoping to attend the RBMS Orientation are welcome to leave a bit earlier in order to participate in both activities. We can have up to twenty volunteers, and you can sign up here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
